Who? Why? What?

Who am I?
This is not a review of the 1998 Jackie Chan flick. I often wonder if you actually need amnesia to ask yourself this question.
I’m a primate, but one would want a more specific answer.
Who I am would actually depend on who you are….
I would introduce myself as a human being to an alien race, As an Asian to a non-Asian, an Indian to a non-Indian, a south Indian to a North Indian and so on. My nomenclature includes a lot of other names like Telugu speaking person, S/o Mr XYZ, husband of Mrs ABC etc… ( apart from 2 dozen nick names I’ve been bestowed upon by so called friends & family). I’ve been called a nut-job as well.
See I define myself based who you are.. I guess so do most of the other primates.
So, Who are you?
Why am I confused?
For thousands of years people have wondered about the purpose of life, what is beyond death and other seemingly unanswerable questions. In 1978, Douglas Adams gave the answer to life, the universe and everything. I’m confused about a whole different thing. Why do people behave the way they do? Why are we like this? Naturally, I started seeking answers, looking for others perspective on this subject. Travelling is one way to do this. Looking at other cultures gives you a whole new perspective into things.Reading is another. Travelling has financial constraints, Reading doesn’t. So what to read? I read everything I get my hands on. Look at any writing in history, 99% opinion and 1% fact. Even my school history text books were some authors opinion on what happened. Don’t believe me? Pick 3 books on same topic of American history. Liberal vs Conservative vs Native American. You will see that there are 3 different narratives of what happened.
So, I’ve always tried to separate the facts and then try to connect the dots to come at a conclusion or in other words my opinion. This always leaves me confused. On why did those people do that? Why were Europeans hell bent on colonising the world? why did Hitler hate Jews? Why Indians ignore rules? Why do people kill each other? Why does the world like coke so much? Why are reality shows such a craze? Why do people need selfies? Why are Indians obsessed with fairness creams when Caucasians are obsessed with getting a skin tan? Why do you need social media? Am I crazy or does everyone wonder about things like these?
What is in this blog?
I already told about a lot of things I’m confused about. if I start talking about all these to people I know, I run a risk of being called insane and being sent to a psychological evaluation. Unlike Dr. Sheldon cooper, my mother never got me tested.
So, I thought typing down some of the feelings would give some respite to my brain. If you come across this blog, spare it as a crazy person talk. I will not try to do a Dan Brown – pick some facts and use them to support my ideas. I’ll do the opposite. Present my ideas and tell you what facts I based them on.
